#1 Glyndebourne Festival 2017
Glyndebourne is an opera house in East Sussex, just one hour from London, which has been the venue for the annual Glyndebourne Festival since 1934. Opera, Concerts, talks & events await you. Tickets are still available for some of the productions so there’s still time to be part of this year’s festival.
#2 Lammas Festival, Eastbourne, 26 and 27 July
The Eastbourne Lammas Festival is a pageant of morris dancing, carnival giants and live music from traditional and and folk-rock to modern jazz.
#3 16 July: Hastings Pirate Day, Hastings
Hastings Pirate Day 2017 is back with avengeance, with events taking placed the length and breadth of ‘Buccaneers’ Mile’, from Hastings Old Town to St Leonards Warrior Square.
#4 Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival, 21-25 August 2014
The Rye–international–Jazz–blues-festival is a boutique music festival presenting World class International artistes and talent from across the region.
#5 Worthing Carnival, Worthing 2 – 28 August:
Worthing’s Carnival has been celebrating all the great and good in Worthing since 1921, making it one of the oldest carnival’s in the UK. The carnival procession is held on Bank Holiday Monday.
#6 Pride, Preston Park, Brighton 5 – 6 August:
Needs no introduction. This year Brighton & Hove Pride are proud to announce that the legendary Pet Shop will be performing at the Pride Summer Of Love Festival in Preston Park on Saturday 5th August 2017. We can get you there safely – drag or no drag.
#7 Arundel Festival, Arundel 19 – 28 August:
Ten days of the best music, theatre, art and comedy, in the most attractive of settings, traditionally held in Arundel during August each year.
#8 ARTWAVE (Artists & Makers Festival), Lewes and surrounds 19 Aug – 3 Sept
For three weekends, over 100 artists’ houses, studios, gardens and galleries across the Lewes district open to the public to show and sell a diverse range of art. Also features a range of events and workshops.
#9 Borde Hill Summer Fun, Borde Hill Garden 22 Jul – 31 Aug:
Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with spectacular views over the Sussex Weald and the Ouse Valley, Borde Hill’s grounds extend to over 200 acres across the garden, woodland and parkland. The 17 acres of formal garden are designed in a series of outdoor ‘rooms’, each with its own distinctive character, colour and scent.
10# Into The Wild Summer Festival, Lewes countryside 25 – 28 August:
A family friendly celebration of summer, with music from around the world, workshops, talks and camping in the countryside near Lewes town.
#11 Herstmonceux Medieval Festival, Herstmonceux Castle 26 – 28 August:
Hurry to Herstmonceux for this unforgettable weekend at HerstmonceuxCastle. England’s biggest medieval festival offers jousting, banquets and twice daily battles!
